My name is LeighAnne Manwarren and I’m a journalism senior at the University of Oklahoma. My focus is on text stories, whether they be print stories or online, and I’m learning the new techniques of multimedia such as videography, photography and audio, then putting all those elements together into a package. My reporting interests include political journalism and spot news reporting.
I interned at The Oklahoman, Oklahoma’s largest metropolitan newspaper, and the Oklahoma Gazette, Oklahoma City’s alternative weekly. At the Oklahoma Gazette, I wrote in-depth stories about issues Oklahoma City citizens care to educate themselves about. This summer, I have returned to The Oklahoman as the breaking news intern, writing general assignment while waiting for news to break as it is happening. The summer before, I interned as the watchdog intern, writing about issues in the community.
In the fall, I was the senior online editor for The Oklahoma Daily’s Web site, OUDaily.com. In that position, I managed the web site and the online content as well as manage the online and multimedia staffs.
